EXTREME WEATHER GUIDELINES

Extreme Heat Guidelines

These guidelines help with decisions regarding practices and games when there is extreme heat.

Kansas Rush will use the WetBulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) to determine whether practices are canceled, shortened or held as scheduled. The WBGT is a measure of heat stress in direct sunlight, which takes into account: temperature, humidity, wind speed, sun angle and cloud cover.

Cold Weather Guidelines

These guidelines help with decisions regarding practices.

PRACTICE CONDITIONS

24 degrees wind chill and below

Practices for ALL players will be cancelled if the windchill is 24 degrees or below.

Lightning Guidelines

These guidelines are used for games and practices when lightning is detected in the area.

When lightning has reached the 10-mile mark and/or a severe weather warning has been issued, all game/practice activities are to cease IMMEDIATELY, and ALL personnel are to evacuate to a safe structure or location.

Play can resume after waiting 30 minutes after the last occurrence.

US Soccer and Kansas Rush WBGT Guidelines

ALERT	WBGT	PRACTICE CONDITION
BLACK	> 92 Degrees	No training or games. All sessions cancelled.
RED	90.1 - 91.9	Maximum 1 hour training with a minimum 4 water breaks of 4 minutes each.
ORANGE	87.1 - 90.0	Maximum 2 hour training with a minimum 4 water breaks of 4 minutes each.
YELLOW	82.0 - 87.0	Minimum 3 water breaks of 4 minutes each.
GREEN	< 82.0 Degrees	Normal activities.
